Job Description

Sofomar Holdings Ltda. is seeking a highly organized and results-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team in Santiago, Chile. The successful candidate will manage purchasing activities, evaluate suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure that goods and services are acquired efficiently, competitively, and in accordance with company requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and negotiation skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience managing supplier relationships and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement process from purchase requests through order completion and delivery.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers.
• Request and analyze quotations, bids, and commercial proposals.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and procurement documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery, and compliance.
• Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, quotations, and purchasing documentation.
• Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving and process-improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with finance, operations, project, and management teams to meet purchasing requirements.
• Resolve supplier issues, delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and applicable Chilean regulations.
• Support strategic sourcing and supplier-management initiatives.
• Prepare procurement reports and provide purchasing updates to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist, Buyer, Purchasing Specialist, or similar position.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience evaluating supplier quotations and commercial proposals.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple purchasing activities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Chilean procurement practices and commercial requirements is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with technology, renewable energy, agribusiness, construction, or investment-related procurement.
• Experience with ERP, procurement, inventory, or purchasing-management systems.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier-risk management.
• Experience negotiating contracts and long-term supplier agreements.
• Familiarity with cost analysis and procurement performance metrics.
• Professional English proficiency is an advantage when working with international suppliers.
