We're looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our Group Operations team in Christchurch. Reporting to the Procurement Transformation Manager, you'll help strengthen procurement capability across the business, deliver commercial value and support PGW's procurement transformation.

This role will suit a commercially astute procurement professional who enjoys building relationships, using data-driven insights and identifying opportunities to create sustainable business value.

About the role

You'll deliver measurable value through end-to-end procurement projects, supplier management initiatives and continuous improvement activities. You'll also help strengthen procurement governance, reporting and best-practice processes across the business.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading procurement activities and sourcing projects across a range of categories
• Conducting spend analysis, market research and category reviews to identify opportunities
• Managing sourcing and contract processes from development through to evaluation and contract award
• Supporting supplier relationship management, performance reviews and service level agreements
• Developing reporting dashboards that support informed decision-making
• Identifying opportunities for automation and digital procurement improvements
• Contributing to procurement governance, policies, frameworks and business planning

About you

You'll be a proactive, commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys building trusted relationships, influencing decisions and turning opportunities into tangible business value.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• 3+ years' procurement experience (5+ years advantageous)
• Strong knowledge of procurement methodologies, sourcing practices, supplier management and governance frameworks
• Experience leading end-to-end procurement activities, contract negotiations and supplier performance improvements
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills
• Understanding of sustainability and health and safety within procurement
• Strong Microsoft Office skills

Desirable

• A relevant tertiary qualification and/or CIPS Level 4 or above
