Procurement Specialist

About the Role

As a Procurement Specialist, you will drive supply chain efficiency by managing material requirements, negotiating strategic supplier contracts, and optimizing inventory levels. You will play a critical role in ensuring production continuity by balancing cost-saving initiatives with high-performance vendor partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage purchase orders within ERP systems, ensuring full compliance with budgetary and procurement policies.
• Analyze supply chain data to support S&OP processes, providing actionable insights to mitigate component shortages.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms to achieve annual cost reduction and inventory optimization targets.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, and scheduling teams to accelerate raw material velocity and minimize operational downtime.
• Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to enhance overall supply chain performance and reliability.
• Establish standard material costs and implement consistent data management practices to improve procurement accuracy.
• Oversee inventory integrity for both raw materials and vendor-consigned goods across multiple sites.
• Provide training and guidance on procurement procedures to ensure organizational adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a technical discipline.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems, specifically SAP, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 50% to visit manufacturing sites and vendor locations.
• Demonstrated ability to perform physical site inspections while adhering to safety protocols.

Preferred Skills

• Proven experience in a LEAN manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
• Expertise in MRP systems and inventory planning methodologies.
• Professional certification such as CPM or equivalent supply chain credentials.
• In-depth knowledge of metals markets, alloys, and industrial procurement trends.
