Procurement Specialist

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities from requirement identification, RFQ/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiation, PO creation to material delivery and payment coordination.
• Handle Direct Procurement of raw materials, components, consumables and other production-related materials as per business requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, capacity and commercial terms.
• Float RFQs, analyze quotations, conduct price negotiations and finalize suppliers in line with company procurement policies.
• Drive cost reduction and cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, alternate sourcing, supplier development and value engineering.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure adherence to agreed pricing, specifications, delivery schedules and commercial terms.
• Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, responsiveness and service levels, and take corrective actions where required.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Stores, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Track open POs, delivery schedules, pending supplies and expedite critical materials to avoid production disruptions.
• Manage supplier development, alternate vendor identification and localization initiatives to reduce supply-chain risks.
• Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, supplier records, pricing data and other purchasing-related records.
• Analyze procurement spend and market trends to identify cost optimization and sourcing opportunities.
• Support annual rate contracts, long-term agreements and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, budgets and applicable statutory requirements.
• Resolve supplier-related issues concerning price, quality, delivery, payment terms and commercial disputes in coordination with relevant departments.
• Prepare and maintain procurement MIS, including savings, spend analysis, supplier performance, pending orders and procurement KPIs.
• Continuously improve procurement processes to enhance cost efficiency, supplier performance, quality and on-time delivery.
