Procurement Specialist

A plastic and packaging manufacturer is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their team in Orangeburg, NY.

Role: Procurement Specialist

Work-Model: fully on-site 5 days per week

Compensation: $30 to $40 an hour - this is a FULL TIME DIRECT HIRE paid on an hourly basis with overtime eligibility.

Join a growing manufacturing company as a Procurement Specialist responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, MRO, services, and indirect supplies to support production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing, inventory levels, and material availability based on forecasts and production requirements.
• Source raw materials, packaging, MRO, operating supplies, and services.
• Build supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, and resolve supply issues.
• Monitor supplier performance and identify cost savings and process improvements.
• Partner with Operations, Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Finance teams.
• Maintain procurement data, contracts, pricing, and purchasing activity within the ERP system.
• Support inventory control, cycle counts, reconciliations, and reporting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong experience with inventory management, supplier management, and purchasing best practices.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience (Dynamics AX preferred).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
