Procurement Specialist (Officer)

Key Responsibilities

1. Sourcing & Supplier Management: Source domestic and cross-border carriers; establish and optimize supplier profiles, and regularly conduct qualification audits, service evaluations, and performance appraisals.
2. Procurement Execution & Cost Control: Manage the end-to-end bidding process (including inquiry, price comparison, negotiation, and awarding) to strictly control costs and quality, driving cost reduction and efficiency.
3. Compliance & Audit Readiness: Adhere strictly to company procurement policies to ensure open, fair, and compliant processes; maintain complete records of bidding documents, quotes, and comparison sheets for auditing.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with dispatch, fleet, warehousing, and finance teams to streamline procurement, transportation, and financial settlement, ensuring smooth business operations.
5. Reporting & Dispute Resolution: Compile procurement data and cost analysis reports for management; handle supplier complaints and claims, and coordinate supplier replacements when necessary to protect company interests.

Job Requirements

1. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree (preferably in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Administration) with 1-3 years of procurement experience in the logistics or transportation industry.
2. Core Skills: Strong capabilities in rate negotiation and cost control; excellent supplier development, communication, and exception-handling skills.
3. Professionalism & Integrity: Highly principled, self-disciplined, detail-oriented, and strongly committed to professional ethics and company regulations; possesses solid data analysis and writing skills.
4. Software & Compliance: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT); familiarity with Zambian procurement laws and regulations is highly preferred.
5. Personal Attributes: Strong resistance to stress with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced procurement workflow.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of bachelors degree in a related field
2. Not less that 1 year of experience in procurement
