Procurement Specialist (SJDM)

The position is responsible for sourcing and procurement of Raw Materials and Packaging materials based on standard specs at competitive price according to prevailing payment terms to support company’s objective of progressive profitability while adhering to the ethical standards at all times.

Protects Cost through negotiation & development of alternate sources.

Builds good business relationship with suppliers & consistently projects good image for the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

Materials Monitoring

• Ensures Delivery of Raw Material and Packaging materials through effective supply management, close coordination with Marketing, Production and Suppliers.

• Ensures Supplier’s stock availability at any given time

• Prepare raw material purchase plan on monthly basis according to production planning and sales forecast

Sourcing New Alternate Suppliers

• Provides the organization with sufficient pool of highly qualified suppliers through strategic sourcing and continuous search for better sources to ensure steady supply at competitive price.

• Optimize procurement processes and develop procurement strategy and ensure substantial supply of raw material products with expected quality and lower cost

Bidding / Selection Formal Bidding

· Evaluates supplier quotations / proposals for RM & PM materials (both existing and new items).

· Evaluates supplier specifications based on the standard requirements.

Negotiation

· Negotiates for optimum price and terms of payment to contribute to the company’s profitability.

• Negotiating ability on contracts ( supply ,volume, flexibility, liabilities)

• Identification of suitable vendors and products from procurement perspective. Evaluation of the capabilities of vendors, including capacity, product and service quality, Price competition, etc

Vendor Management

• Maintains good business relationship with suppliers and promotes partnership through open and constant communication of corporate directions and effective handling of supplier feedback and concerns.

• Oversee the procurement process to ensure that the customer/supplier expectations are understood and the correct material/service is delivered to the right place, at the right time, for the right price; and the materials and services meet the quality and design requirements.

Contract Implementation and Review

• Manages contracts with suppliers, monitors supplier’s performance and recommends system improvements to ensure that the organization’s requirements are met.

• Strictly implements No PO/Contract, No Delivery, No Payment Policy.

• Oversee the implementation of the Supply Chain Process in accordance with company guidelines, legal requirements, Supply and Business Unit procedures, business unit needs and enterprise wide solutions.

5S Representative

· Acts as the department’s representative in supporting the company’s adherence to 5s.

Performs other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Office work (on-site) with occasional fieldwork (supplier site visits / audits).

REQUIREMENTS:

· Industrial Engineering / Business Management Graduate or its equivalent.

· 2-3 years’ experience in Purchasing, Materials Management or Logistics

· Training on Strategic Sourcing and Strategic Procurement, Negotiation and Supply Chain Management

· Knowledge on basic production / manufacturing process in Personal Care Industry / Food Manufacturing

· Microsoft Office Literate.

· With good track record in driving cost saving, hard working/flexible and adaptable.

· Leadership and Communication Skills.
