JOB DESCRIPTION : PROCUREMENT SUPERVISOR

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Procurement Supervisor to manage and supervise the procurement of raw materials, consumables, tools, packaging materials, and other items required for smooth jewellery manufacturing operations.

The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers, obtaining quotations, negotiating prices, monitoring purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining proper procurement records.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day procurement and purchase activities.
• Identify material requirements based on production and departmental requirements.
• Source and evaluate reliable suppliers/vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
• Negotiate price, quality, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per company requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Accounts, and Management regarding purchase requirements.
• Verify material specifications, quantity, and quality received from suppliers.
• Maintain proper records of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and supplier details.
• Monitor pending orders and ensure timely closure.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficient purchasing.
• Handle supplier-related issues, shortages, delays, and quality discrepancies.
• Ensure procurement is carried out according to company policies and approval procedures.
• Maintain accurate procurement reports and MIS.
• Support inventory planning and avoid unnecessary overstocking or material shortages.
• Perform other procurement-related duties assigned by management.

Jewellery Industry Knowledge – Preferred

• Knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes will be an advantage.
• Understanding of jewellery raw materials, consumables, tools, and production requirements.
• Knowledge of procurement related to silver, findings, stones, packaging materials, chemicals, tools, and other manufacturing consumables is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with production and stores for material requirements.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets.
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to compare quotations and analyze purchase costs.
• Strong follow-up and problem-solving ability.
• Good knowledge of purchase and procurement procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualification

• Graduate in any discipline.
• Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commerce, or a related field will be an advantage.

Experience

• 2 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement / Vendor Management.
• Experience in a jewellery manufacturing unit or manufacturing industry is preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
