Procurement Supervisor – Oil & Gas

Company: Oil and Gas International
Workplace: Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, UAE
Department: Procurement / Supply Chain
Experience Required: 3–4 Years
Industry: Oil & Gas

Company Overview

Oil and Gas International is a growing organization operating within the Oil & Gas sector, supporting customers through reliable sourcing, supply-chain solutions, specialized materials, equipment, and commercial expertise.

Based in Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, we work with local and international suppliers and manufacturers to deliver competitive, technically compliant, and commercially effective procurement solutions.

As we continue to expand, we are looking for a motivated and commercially driven Procurement Supervisor who is ready to take greater ownership, strengthen supplier relationships, improve procurement performance, and grow into a larger leadership role within the organization.

Role Summary

The Procurement Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and supporting procurement activities, with a strong focus on supplier sourcing, price negotiation, quotation analysis, technical and commercial comparison, and cost optimization.

The successful candidate must have solid procurement experience within the Oil & Gas industry and understand the requirements involved in sourcing specialized materials, equipment, components, and services.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong procurement foundation who is ambitious, eager to learn, and ready to gradually take on greater commercial and leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for Oil & Gas materials, equipment, components, consumables, and related services.
  • Source and evaluate reliable local and international suppliers based on pricing, technical compliance, quality, delivery capability, commercial terms, and supplier performance.
  • Prepare detailed commercial and technical supplier comparison sheets.
  • Analyse supplier quotations and clearly identify differences in price, specifications, lead time, payment terms, manufacturer, warranty, and other commercial conditions.
  • Lead and support price negotiations with suppliers to obtain the best possible commercial value.
  • Negotiate discounts, payment terms, delivery schedules, freight costs, warranties, lead times, and contractual conditions.
  • Review historical pricing and market information before negotiating with suppliers.
  • Continuously identify cost-saving and cost-optimization opportunities.
  • Challenge supplier prices where necessary and identify alternative manufacturers, distributors, stockists, and sourcing options.
  • Ensure that lower pricing does not compromise technical compliance, quality, certification, or customer requirements.
  • Review RFQs, specifications, datasheets, drawings, and technical requirements before obtaining quotations.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Warehouse, and Management.
  • Ensure materials meet required Oil & Gas specifications, certifications, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Issue and monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of quotations, negotiations, purchase orders, comparison sheets, supplier communications, and approvals.
  • Track supplier performance relating to price, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Build strong long-term relationships with manufacturers, distributors, stockists, and service providers.
  • Monitor changes in material pricing, availability, lead times, freight costs, and supply-chain risks.
  • Support supplier qualification and supplier evaluation activities.
  • Assist and guide junior procurement employees where required.
  • Take increasing responsibility for procurement decisions, supplier strategy, and team coordination as the role develops.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–4 years of professional procurement experience.
  • Previous procurement experience within the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of Oil & Gas materials, equipment, suppliers, manufacturers, and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier price negotiation.
  • Strong experience preparing and analysing supplier comparison and quotation evaluation sheets.
  • Ability to perform both commercial and technical evaluations of supplier offers.
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost-control mindset.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and procurement requirements.
  • Knowledge of RFQs, purchase orders, supplier quotations, Incoterms, payment terms, logistics, and delivery schedules.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and procurement or ERP systems.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple RFQs, suppliers, and procurement requirements simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and commercial pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline is preferred.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Highly motivated and ambitious.
  • Commercially driven.
  • Confident when negotiating with suppliers.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Willing to challenge pricing and commercial conditions.
  • Proactive and able to take ownership.
  • Interested in learning and developing stronger Oil & Gas procurement knowledge.
  • Able to build strong supplier relationships while protecting the company's commercial interests.
  • Interested in taking on increasing leadership responsibilities.
  • Looking for long-term professional growth within the company.

What We Offer
