Procurement Team Lead

About the Role

As the Contract Management Team Lead , you will lead and develop Sourcing and/or Drafting Senior Specialists while overseeing day-to-day sourcing operations.

You’ll manage request intake, case allocation, workload capacity, SLA performance, procurement governance, quality assurance, supplier escalations, security controls, and Business Reviews. You’ll also handle strategic sourcing cases directly when additional support is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and triage incoming sourcing requests.
• Validate category taxonomy and ensure accurate routing.
• Assign sourcing cases based on category, complexity, and workload.
• Monitor team capacity, turnaround times, and SLA compliance.
• Coach and develop Sourcing and/or Drafting Senior Specialists.
• Support stakeholder kick-off meetings and sourcing strategy alignment.
• Maintain secure access controls and confidential procurement environments.
• Track procurement quality and operational performance.
• Review and route negotiation plans based on spend thresholds.
• Resolve complex sourcing cases, supplier blockers, and data delays.
• Analyze cost savings, SLA performance, and security metrics.
• Prepare and present periodic Business Reviews.
• Drive workflow optimization, automation, and procurement governance improvements.
• Personally manage end-to-end sourcing cases when required.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, indirect procurement, procurement analytics, or supply chain operations.
• 3+ years of experience coaching, developing, and leading sourcing teams.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and managing expectations in fast-paced environments.
• Proven experience driving workflow optimization, automation, operational excellence, and procurement governance.
• Experience using data analytics and visualization tools for cost-benefit analysis and sourcing decisions.
• Experience translating spend analytics and savings tracking into executive-level insights and recommendations.

Good-to-Have

• Experience in a high-compliance or corporate shared-services environment.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certification such as CPSM, MCIPS, or CSCP .
