About the Role

Cogent Paint Limited is seeking a responsible, organized, and experienced Procurement / Logistics Officer to manage the company’s purchasing activities, supplier relationships, inventory coordination, and logistics operations.

The successful candidate will ensure that raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, and other supplies are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on time to support smooth production and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, and other company supplies.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Request and compare quotations to obtain competitive prices and favorable terms.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other supplier conditions.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and procurement documentation.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the store and production teams to prevent shortages.
• Coordinate the transportation and timely delivery of purchased materials.
• Track deliveries and follow up with suppliers and logistics providers.
• Ensure all purchased items meet the required quality and specifications.
• Maintain accurate procurement, supplier, and delivery records.
• Assist with inventory and logistics planning.
• Work closely with the Production, Store, Finance, and Management teams.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to reduce procurement and logistics costs.
• Perform other procurement and logistics duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or logistics is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a paint or chemical manufacturing company, is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of local suppliers and sourcing practices.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of inventory and procurement processes.
• Ability to compare quotations and make sound purchasing decisions.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Must be trustworthy, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
