Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating produce items or answering product questions with enthusiasm.
• Stock shelves efficiently by receiving deliveries, organizing displays, and maintaining attractive merchandising standards.
• Conduct product demos or tastings when appropriate to promote featured items and increase sales.
• Operate cash registers accurately, handle retail sales transactions, and manage cash drawer with integrity.
• Upsell complementary products such as dips, packaging, or seasonal items to enhance customer satisfaction and sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including proper stocking, rotation, and labeling of items.
• Use POS (Point of Sale) systems confidently for transactions; communicate effectively with team members via phone etiquette when needed.

Skills

• Previous supervising or leadership experience in retail or food service environments is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in bilingual settings if applicable.
• Knowledge of retail store product placement, merchandising techniques, and inventory management.
• Experience with retail math for accurate pricing, stock levels, and sales calculations.
• Proficiency in cash register operations, cash handling procedures, and retail sales transactions.
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for pricing and change calculations.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude; ability to handle phone inquiries professionally.
• Familiarity with retail store product knowledge related to fresh produce; ability to demonstrate products confidently.
