As a Produce Lead, you will oversee daily operations within the produce department, ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, and exceptional customer service. Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily produce department activities, including stocking, pricing, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
• Lead, train, and develop team members in customer service skills, product knowledge, and operational procedures
• Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, ordering, and purchasing to reduce waste and meet demand
• Oversee quality control by inspecting produce for freshness, appearance, and safety standards
• Implement sales strategies by organizing displays, promotions, and pricing to attract customers and boost revenue
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Handle cash register operations using POS systems, process transactions accurately, and manage cash handling procedures

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles within the grocery or retail industry with a focus on produce or perishables
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
• Excellent communication skills for effective management and customer interaction
• Knowledge of inventory management systems, POS systems, and basic bookkeeping practices
• Ability to perform basic math calculations related to pricing, sales tracking, and inventory control
• Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in stocking, merchandising, and store operations
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
• Previous experience in employee orientation, training & development, interviewing candidates, payroll processing, and budgeting is highly desirable

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
