Produce Lead

Role Overview: This position leads daily department operations in a retail store, especially in the absence of the department manager. Responsibilities include managing inventory, overseeing staff, ensuring product quality and freshness, and maintaining store standards. The role involves supporting sales initiatives, executing company plans, and ensuring safety and food safety compliance. Additionally, the associate assists with staffing, training, performance management, and achieving key performance indicators.

Key Duties

• Order, monitor, and maintain inventory, applying control procedures to minimize loss and ensure product quality.
• Review received orders for accuracy, condition, and proper storage.
• Lead a team to complete stocking, production, and other tasks, ensuring product freshness and handling damaged goods appropriately.
• Maintain knowledge of products, sales, and promotional features.
• Implement store plans, manage schedules, and support labor and payroll controls.
• Support department management in staffing, training, and performance development.
• Participate in meetings and communicate store goals effectively.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment following company standards.
• Adhere to safety, food safety, and guest experience guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as needed, including cross-department support.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership ability and hands-on work experience.
• Knowledge of retail operations and management systems; suggestive selling experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable depending on location.

Physical & Environmental Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures and conditions typical of retail environments.
