Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the produce department, including ordering, inventory control, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of associates to deliver exceptional customer service and uphold safety standards.
• Coordinate purchasing activities, negotiate with vendors, and oversee product quality to ensure freshness and variety.
• Implement effective merchandising techniques to enhance product presentation and attract customer attention.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) operations, and store cleanliness to maintain a professional shopping environment.
• Develop staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate ongoing training & development initiatives.
• Monitor departmental budgets, analyze sales data, and adjust strategies accordingly to meet financial goals.

Skills

• Proven experience in retail sales management with supervising experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills for team leadership, customer interactions, and vendor negotiations.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively.
• Knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, and store management best practices.
• Proficiency with POS systems, bookkeeping software, and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and inventory calculations.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on training & development, team management, and motivating staff toward shared goals.
