Today, The Moth produces 600+ live shows annually, as well as the Peabody Award-winning The Moth Radio Hour, and the popular The Moth Podcast. Department Overview: The Moth’s Production Department oversees the planning and execution of the organization’s hundreds of live events each year. Members of the Production Department work independently and collaboratively across departments to successfully and strategically bring The Moth’s artistic vision to life on stages across the world.

The Moth Production Department Produces 3 different kinds of ticketed events:

StorySLAM - Community-focused open-mic storytelling competitions in which anyone can share a five-minute story on the night’s theme.

GrandSLAM - Ten StorySLAM winners in a given city are invited to take the GrandSLAM stage for the ultimate storytelling competition.

Mainstage - Curated events featuring five tellers who develop and shape their stories with our Directors. Beyond theater, The Moth Mainstage is a community where entertainment and enlightenment merge.
