Product Application Engineer -Bipolar

POSITION OVERVIEW: Based on detailed application-product expertise and technical excellence the Product Application Engineer provides in-depth technical customer support for bipolar discrete products, like as Schottky diode, FRED, ESD diode, TVS diode, switching diode, NPN/PNP transistors, shunt regulator TL431, bipolar linear LED driver, …etc. Via technical collateral creation, the PAE supports design-in activities as well as running business for our Marketing Focus Portfolio. The role actively contributes to build up a future proof product portfolio by capturing key application requirements and trends as well as through in-application validation of new products II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide best in class technical and design-in support for key customers, with specific focus on evaluation / demo boards, development kits, tear down, technical documentation, models / simulation etc.
• Respond to day-to-day technical support requests from customers and from Nexperia’s global sales teams, e.g. Helpdesk +, troubleshooting customers’ designs
• Technical Competence by delivering diverse technical documentation material e.g. (academic) publications, Application Notes, (customer) webinars and presentations, preparation of product promotions, including selling points, product performance evaluations, Application Handbooks (Nexperia “Encyclopedia”), technical Collaterals, technical training material (inbound and outbound), collaboration / participation with / in standardization organizations, Industry committees, universities.
• Translate application / customer insights and segment trends into target specifications for new products and platforms (e.g. CRS “customer requirement specifications”) to build a future proof product portfolio
• Support Cross Nexperia Application Initiatives (e.g. Techn Value Proposition (TVP), Application Online, Technical Blogs, technical content for Nexperia.com)
• Test and evaluate device performance (e.g in the Application Lab, with external partners), providing feedback to the design teams, bench tests for customers etc.
• Hard Skills:
• Capable of understanding technical aspects of electronic systems, from the customers’ applications down to the product features and product development process.
• Interpret schematic diagrams, Circuit simulation, (SPICE) modelling, PCB design, electronic design for harsh conditions, thermal analysis etc.
• Semiconductor device physics and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Analogue hardware design knowledge and simulation know how.
• Excellent analytical skills and structured work approach.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong customer focus and service orientation.
• Intercultural awareness and ability to work in international teams.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship building skills.
• Ability to prepare detailed technical documents as well as high level presentations.
• Interface with field engineers and customers to solve problems and encourage the next generation of design wins.
• Influence technical decisions, and be open to ideas from others.
