Product Design Engineer (BiPass)

Position Title: Product Design Engineer, Launch – Global team

Location: Thang Long II IP, Hung Yen (Daily bus from Hanoi/ Hai Duong/ Bac Ninh)

MOLEX, a brand under Koch Industries, headquartered in Lisle, Illinois (USA), is one of the world’s leading interconnect solution providers.

Molex Vietnam has operated its first factory at Thang Long Industrial Park I since 2007. Currently, Molex is investing in a new factory complex located at Thang Long Industrial Park II in Hung Yen Province. The project has a total investment of approximately USD 145 million, covering an area of 100,000 m² and being developed in three phases. This facility will manufacture high-tech products such as high-speed cables, connectors, optical devices, and liquid cooling solutions.

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Design Engineer to support the design, development, launch, and ongoing sustainment of the BiPass Product Line , a key technology used in high-speed signal transmission for data center server infrastructure. This position serves as a critical link between the Vietnam manufacturing facility and global product development teams, ensuring successful product commercialization and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Development & Launch

• Support the design, development, validation, and manufacturing launch of BiPass products.
• Review new product concepts with manufacturing teams and provide feedback on manufacturability, feasibility, and plant capabilities.
• Conduct technical analyses, including proof-of-concept evaluations and failure investigations.
• Develop alternative engineering solutions to address design or performance gaps.
• Coordinate activities related to tooling, design verification, product validation, and testing.
• Collaborate closely with Process Engineering to ensure product quality and protect design intent throughout production.
• Act as a liaison between the Vietnam manufacturing site and global design centers.

Product Sustaining & Continuous Improvement

• Provide engineering support for existing products during production and launch phases.
• Investigate and resolve customer quality issues to maintain product reliability and performance.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and manufacturing yield improvements.
• Develop product modifications and line extensions to support business growth and market expansion.
• Collaborate with both local and international suppliers during product development and production.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support execution of new product design projects to accelerate time-to-market.
• Participate in cross-functional product development activities.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Scope of the Position

The Product Design Engineer is responsible for supporting the successful design, modification, launch, and lifecycle management of BiPass and related product families. The role requires close collaboration with global cross-functional teams and active engagement in both engineering development and manufacturing execution.

Qualifications

Education

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Preferred

• Specialization in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience

Required

• 4–6 years of experience in product design, development, and product launch activities.

Preferred

• Experience with electromechanical product manufacturing processes and assembly operations.

Technical Skills

Required

• Experience designing plastic and sheet metal components.
• Strong understanding of:
• Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
• Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
• Familiarity with product development and validation processes.

Preferred

• Proficiency in English.
• Mandarin language capability is highly desirable.
