Product Designer

We're looking for a Product Designer with strong 0→1 experience who enjoys solving new problems, understanding users, and building products from the ground up.

The role involves designing commerce experiences for Bharat users, including people who are relatively new to digital commerce or the internet. You'll need to understand how these users think, build trust, discover products, and make purchasing decisions rather than simply applying established design patterns.

You'll own design end to end, working closely with product, engineering, and business teams. We value product thinking, speed, and execution as much as design craft.

What you'll do

• Own design end to end: From understanding problems and users to designing, prototyping, shipping, and iterating based on outcomes.
• Build commerce experiences: Work across product discovery, cart, checkout, repeat purchases, and other key user journeys.
• Design for Bharat: Understand users across different levels of digital familiarity, language preferences, and purchasing behaviours. Create intuitive, accessible, and trustworthy experiences.
• Think beyond screens: Understand user behaviour, business objectives, and trade-offs. Challenge assumptions and help shape what gets built.
• Work AI-first: Actively use AI for research, ideation, design exploration, rapid prototyping, and execution. Continuously improve the speed and quality of your work.
• Stay close to users: Speak with users, observe their behaviour, and translate insights into product decisions.
• Ship and learn fast: Collaborate closely with engineers, test ideas quickly, and improve experiences using feedback and product metrics.

What we're looking for

• 4–5 years of product design experience with strong UX, interaction design, and visual design fundamentals.
• 0→1 experience is a must: You've designed a new product, built for a new audience, or created a new use case from scratch, whether at a startup or an established company.
• AI-first mindset: You actively integrate AI into your workflow and can demonstrate how it helps you work faster, explore more, and deliver better outcomes.
• Strong user empathy: You understand, or are genuinely motivated to understand, Bharat and emerging internet users, including their behaviours, constraints, and trust barriers.
• Strong product thinking: You can navigate ambiguity, question requirements, and make design decisions grounded in user needs and business outcomes.
• High ownership: You're comfortable driving problems independently and collaborating directly with engineers through launch.
• Strong portfolio: Real, shipped work demonstrating your problem-solving process, design decisions, iterations, and impact.
• Preferred: Experience designing e-commerce or marketplace products, particularly across discovery, conversion, checkout, and repeat purchase journeys.
