What they need

PRODUCT DEVELOPER

Malina is looking for an experienced Product Developer to join our production team in Stockholm. In this role, you will be responsible for developing products from initial sketch handover through to final sample approval, ensuring that every piece reflects Malina’s DNA of design, fit and quality.

Working across multiple product categories, you will collaborate closely with our designers, production team and international suppliers to ensure seamless product development and execution. As part of a small, dedicated team, you will take ownership of the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with designers to translate creative concepts into technically feasible and commercially viable products, while maintaining the original design intent.
  • Take an active role in fittings, providing technical expertise and clear, actionable feedback on construction, measurements, fit and workmanship.
  • Manage development across multiple product categories, ensuring consistency in quality, fit and overall product execution.
  • Collaborate directly with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical challenges, improve product quality and ensure efficient development.
  • Review and negotiate product costs, materials and construction methods to achieve the right balance between design, quality and target margins.
  • Proactively identify development risks, manage timelines and ensure key milestones and approvals are delivered on schedule.
  • Ensure that all product specifications, measurements, comments and development data are accurately maintained in the PLM system.
  • Support responsible material choices and ensure products meet relevant quality and compliance requirements.

Your Profile

  • Several years of experience in product development within the fashion industry, preferably from a premium or contemporary fashion brand.
  • Extensive experience in multi-category product development, with the ability to manage a broad range of garment types, materials and construction techniques.
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrics and production methods, with experience in leading fittings and providing clear technical feedback.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of the full product development process.
  • Experience working directly with international suppliers, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times and cost structures.
  • Commercial awareness and a solid understanding of product costing, margins and the balance between design and production feasibility.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage several collections, priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working in PLM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

About You

  • You have a genuine passion for fashion, craftsmanship and product quality, with a strong understanding of Malina’s aesthetic and brand identity.
  • You have a hands-on approach and enjoy being involved in every stage of product development.
  • You are proactive, solution-oriented and able to anticipate challenges before they become problems.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, building strong relationships with designers, colleagues and suppliers.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where flexibility, responsibility and initiative are valued.

What We Offer

A dynamic position in a growing fashion company where you will play a key role in shaping and developing Malina’s collections. You will have the opportunity to take ownership, influence product quality and development processes, and work closely with a passionate team in a creative and collaborative environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at Malina’s headquarters in Stockholm, with a start date to be agreed upon.

We review applications on an ongoing basis, so apply as soon as possible by sending your CV and cover letter to Lina Adelöw, Head of Production, at [email protected].
