Product Development Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Product Development Specialist supports the product development process by coordinating product specifications, sample development, costing, testing, and vendor communication.

The role ensures products are developed according to brand requirements, quality standards, and target timelines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Development Coordination

• Assist in managing the product development process from concept to production.
• Prepare and maintain product specifications, technical information, and development documents
• Track development milestones and ensure timely completion of deliverables

Sample Management

• Coordinate sample requests, reviews, and approvals
• Monitor sample status and ensure timely completion by vendors
• Organize fitting sessions, product evaluations, and sample presentations

Vendor Coordination

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers during development
• Follow up on the product specifications, material submissions, and costing information
• Ensure suppliers meet development timelines and quality expectations

Costing And Analysis

• Assist in reviewing product costing and identifying opportunities for cost optimization
• Maintain costing databases and development records
• Support margin and pricing analysis.

Quality and Compliance

• Coordinate product testing and quality evaluations
• Ensure development samples comply with the brand standards and technical requirements
• Document and communicate product issues requiring corrective action

Reporting and Administration

• Maintain accurate product development trackers and reports
• Prepare presentations and updates for cross-functional meetings
• Ensure all development documentation is complete and properly archived.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Product Design, or related field
• At least 2-4 years of experience in product development, merchandising, sourcing, or related functions
• Experience in footwear, apparel, accessories, or consumer goods preferred
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
