Product Development Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group’s Design & Projects team are looking for a Product Development Engineer to drive innovation across specialist products, new materials and manufacturing processes.

This is a hands-on NPD role, working closely with Design, Sales, Manufacturing and R&D to take products from initial concept through to production and market launch.

The Role

• Lead and support new product development projects from concept through to launch
• Research and introduce new materials, manufacturing processes and technologies
• Translate customer requirements into technically and commercially viable solutions
• Develop designs, technical documentation, cost models and test plans
• Conduct laboratory and field testing, analyse results and drive design improvements
• Work with suppliers and customers on technical reviews, trials and product development
• Support the industrialisation and scale-up of new products
• Contribute to continuous improvement, ISO 9001 and wider R&D initiatives

About You

We’re looking for a curious, commercially minded engineer who enjoys taking ideas from concept into reality.

You’ll ideally have:

• A Foundation Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 5+ years’ product development/NPD experience, ideally involving new materials
• Strong design and CAD capability
• Experience with engineering drawings, mechanical testing and data/statistical analysis
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Experience within Aerospace and knowledge of relevant standards would be advantageous
