ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a detail-oriented and creative Product Development Engineer who will help transform product concepts into production-ready products. The role focuses on prototyping, technical documentation, material selection, costing, product improvement, and ensuring a smooth transition from development to manufacturing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate product concepts and market requirements into technical product specifications.
• Lead prototyping and sampling activities in collaboration with the production team.
• Prepare product specifications, assembly instructions, drawings, BOM, PDR, PIS, and other technical documents.
• Evaluate and recommend materials, with a focus on foam, fabric, and other product-related materials.
• Conduct BOM and cost analysis to ensure products meet quality and target cost requirements.
• Identify opportunities for value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), cost efficiency, and product improvements.
• Support the production hand-off by providing technical guidance and resolving potential manufacturing issues.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of any Science or Engineering course.
• Preferably with at least 1 year of Product Development experience.
• Experience in upholstery product development is an advantage.
• Knowledge of foam, fabric, and other product materials is an advantage.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Computer literate and familiar with Google Workspace/productivity tools.
