Product Development Engineer

About the role

Develops customer drawings into work order sheets. Ensures on-time preparation and submission of sub-assembly sheet, job order, product specification, Shipping Inspection Report (SIR), Materials Detail Form (MDF) and harness drawings. Evaluates process flow and prepares production-related documents to further improve line quality and productivity. Designs effective jigs and boards (electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic) and evaluate their effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Develops customer drawings into work orders sheets
• Assists in Sample Making Line and Production when new or revised part number is being produced
• Attends Test Production and 4M and evaluates the product produced in compliance to customer and manufacturer standards
• Attends 4M meeting and assures all changes are according to approved internal and external revisions
• Checks first output of new/revised part number against customer drawing
• Issues and receives documented information to and from all concerned sections and departments such as: Product Specification, Sub-Assembly Sheet, Materials Details Form, Assembly Drawing
• Attends Team Feasibility and APQP
• Evaluates machine applicator, tool and jig requirements and recommends purchase of qualification
