Product Development Lead

We are looking for a Product Development Lead who understands beauty market trends, consumer needs, and product innovation, with the ability to turn insights into commercially relevant products.

This role will lead the end-to-end product development process, from concept and formulation to packaging and commercialization, while working closely with cross-functional teams and manufacturing partners to deliver successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor local and global beauty trends, consumer preferences, competitor products, and emerging ingredients to identify new product opportunities.
2. Translate consumer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis into innovative and commercially relevant product concepts, including new SKUs, reformulations, and line extensions.
3. Lead end-to-end product development from concept, formulation, sampling, testing, packaging, BPOM/halal registration, to commercialization.
4. Develop product briefs covering target consumers, positioning, product benefits, claims direction, competitive benchmarks, and target cost.
5. Collaborate closely with R&D labs, OEM/ODM partners, packaging suppliers, QC/QA, Creative, Marketing, E-commerce, and other relevant teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
6. Manage product development timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects are executed effectively and launched on schedule.
7. Prepare product concepts, development updates, market insights, and recommendations for internal stakeholders and management.
8. Stay updated on beauty industry trends, consumer behavior, product innovation, and market developments to continuously identify opportunities for product portfolio growth.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in any major, preferably in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Science, or a related field.
2. Minimum 3–4 years of professional experience in beauty or cosmetic product development, particularly in personal care.
3. Strong understanding and interest in beauty products, consumer trends, market dynamics, and product innovation.
4. Proven track record of leading end-to-end product development projects and managing cross-functional collaboration.
5. Experience working with OEM/ODM partners, manufacturing partners, and external laboratories is highly preferred.
6. Strong analytical, project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
7. Able to translate consumer insights, market data, product reviews, and competitive analysis into actionable product recommendations.
8. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
9. Positive, proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
