Product Development Manager - Cosmetics

• Conduct NPD market research and analyze the latest cosmetics and makeup trends, consumer preferences, competitor products, and market opportunities to identify product gaps and new product opportunities.
• Lead and implement the development of new makeup and beauty products, from product ideation and concept development to formulation testing and product launch.
• Develop product concepts, product portfolios, key selling points (USPs), product claims, and product briefs based on market trends and consumer needs.
• Plan and conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGD) internally and externally to gather consumer insights and validate product concepts and preferences.
• Coordinate formulation and product testing, including sample evaluation, feedback collection, and product refinement based on consumer feedback.
• Gather and analyze consumer feedback, market insights, and product testing results to support product improvements and future NPD.
• Work closely with the Marketing, Design, Packaging, Regulatory, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product concepts are aligned with the brand direction and target consumers.
• Coordinate with suppliers and relevant stakeholders on product development, formulation, packaging, samples, product specifications, and production timelines.
• Monitor NPD progress and ensure projects are delivered according to the agreed timeline, quality requirements, and launch schedule.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking and product analysis to identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation.
• Stay updated on local and international makeup trends, beauty innovations, ingredients, textures, packaging, and consumer preferences to continuously bring fresh product ideas to the brand.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Product Development, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in cosmetics, beauty, makeup, NPD, or product development, preferably within the beauty industry.

• Proven experience in developing and successfully launching new cosmetics or makeup products.

• Experience in NPD market research, formulation testing, consumer research, or FGD is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of the beauty and makeup market, including product trends, consumer preferences, competitors, and emerging categories.

• Strong product and marketing sense, with the ability to identify market opportunities and translate consumer insights into commercially viable product concepts.

• Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple NPD projects and timelines effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders.

• Strong attention to detail, proactive follow-up, and ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Passionate about makeup, beauty trends, and product innovation.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
