Product Development Manager (R&D)

About the role

The Product Development Manager (R&D) is responsible for all the planned and proposed research work given by the Director of Research (or Head of Business) towards development of new product and quality/performance improvement of existing product, evaluation of its performance through field trials, maintaining products and Raw materials standards for the company (Global) and day to day formulation of the products for the company with coordination with Laboratory Manager. On time documentation of all the product developments and its relevant research results should be informed to the supervisor. This role will also work closely with the Product Manager to identify current reformulation needs and for developing new products for the Thailand and SEA markets.

Key responsibilities

• Collect relevant literature for the understanding of the proposed work and plan experiments with appropriate controls and replications
• Follow up the projects until they are completed, and completion report should be submitted on time
• Conduct exploratory research toward the continual improvement of existing product
• Collect all the product information for the competitor's company and cross check
• Maintain registry of all product formulation
• Monitor and coordinate issuing of formulas
• Control of formulas for confidentiality and intellectual property protection reasons
• Formulate new product(s) and modification of existing product(s) and support the product formulation division to run trials/batch/required modification in formula based on continual improvement to meet market standards
• Develop and maintain specifications for raw materials and finished goods
• Coordinate with Technical Service team and Product Manager for preparation of scientific bulletin and to answer queries raised under FAQ service

About you

• Minimum 10 years work experience in the R&D and/or Product Development role
• Good work experience as R&D Manager or Product Development Manager role in a well-known international animal feed, or feed additives company
• Master's Degree in Animal Nutrition, or minimum Bachelor's Degree in Animal Nutrition
• Good experience working with new product development, product formulations, product registrations (DLD/Fisheries Department)
• Experience working closely with Commercial Team helping develop solutions for Integrators and Feedmills in all major species feed manufacturers in Thailand
• Good network and experience working with Nutritionists and Formulators of top integrators
• Good team player, collaborates well across functions and teams
• Results driven mindset, is hungry to build and grow new products that leads to new business growth
• Good communication skills
• Good trainer/loves training and teaching others
