Product Engineer

About the role

We're looking for a Product Engineer who thinks and builds like a founder, someone who can take a rough idea and turn it into a working, well-designed product without waiting for a fully written spec. You'll work closely with product and design, but you're comfortable owning both when the situation calls for it.

You use AI tools fluently as part of how you build, not as a novelty, but as a real part of your workflow. You care as much about how a feature feels as how it performs. This is a hands-on, high-craft role for someone who wants to shape both the technical architecture and the user experience of a fast-moving AI learning product used by students and professionals alike.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features across MeeOpp's learning products, from backend architecture to interface details.
• Partner directly with product and design to translate ambiguous problems into polished, working solutions, using good product judgment to fill gaps rather than waiting for a complete spec.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as a core part of your daily workflow to move fast without sacrificing quality.
• Own features end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, and iteration based on real usage data.
• Weigh in on design decisions, interaction patterns, visual polish, usability not just implementation.
• Help set technical and craft standards as the team scales.

About you

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a fast-moving product or start-up environment.
• Strong full-stack fundamentals and a track record of shipping real products end-to-end.
• Genuine, demonstrable fluency with AI-assisted coding tools and workflows.
• A strong eye for interaction, visual, and UX design, even without formal design training.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity; you don't need a fully spec'd ticket to start building.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong advantage.
