Role Summary

We are currently looking for a Product Engineer to drive manufacturing enhancements, support product development, and lead continuous improvement efforts on the production floor. This role is perfect for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys tackling complex challenges, and is passionate about refining how our products are manufactured. Because you will manage a variety of tasks ranging from quick fixes to long-term strategic projects, you must be a flexible communicator who can collaborate across departments to boost product quality, streamline processes, and increase overall profitability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and update product and Unit Identity (ID) information within our production systems, including material specs, measurements, and visual assets.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for both new and existing product lines.
  • Help maintain accurate records of part numbers, technical specifications, and imagery to ensure team efficiency.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable product and manufacturing specifications to ensure we meet project goals.
  • Generate and manage Production Work Orders (PWOs) and detailed Work Instructions (WIs) for the shop floor.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation that helps the team maintain high standards through clear, step-by-step procedures.
  • Support the team by assisting with Quality Stop (Q Stop) inspections to maintain product integrity.
  • Utilize various testing tools to evaluate the performance of components and finished products.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends that support continuous improvement and effective root-cause corrective actions.
  • Proactively suggest engineering or design modifications to improve our manufacturing outcomes.
  • Develop detailed CAD/SolidWorks models, prints, and drawings to support ongoing engineering initiatives.
  • Work alongside production and quality staff to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding project status, potential risks, and strategic recommendations.

Education and Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Proven experience managing technical manufacturing or product documentation.
  • Comfortable navigating databases, computer systems, and production software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to foster collaboration between engineering and production teams.
  • Adaptability when faced with shifting priorities and project scopes.
  • Practical experience with CAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Solid understanding of BOMs, work orders, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Lean Six Sigma training or certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective conflict resolution.

Safety and Environment

This role requires frequent interaction with manufacturing operations, meaning you will spend significant time on the production floor. You will be required to utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Safety glasses
  • Safety shoes
  • Earplugs
  • Gloves (as needed)
  • Face shields (as needed)

We provide all necessary safety training, PPE, and standard orientation upon arrival.

Work Schedule

Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. This position offers a unique chance for an engineer to step away from the desk and make a tangible impact on manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational excellence. We are looking for proficiency in the following areas: Bachelor's Degree, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, CAD Software, ISO 9001 Certification, Automotive Manufacturing Systems, BOM, and SolidWorks.
