About the Role

We are looking for highly skilled Product Engineers – Java with up to 3 years of experience to join the engineering team at RunnTV. We have 2 open positions for engineers who are passionate about building scalable, high-performance products and solving real-world technology challenges.

You will work on the technology powering RunnTV's OTT streaming platform and PlayStudio, our media technology platform, building backend services, APIs and scalable systems that support millions of users and a growing streaming ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful engineering challenges, work closely with product and business teams, and contribute directly to building products in a fast-growing media and technology company.

Preference will be given to candidates from premier engineering institutions, including IITs, NITs and other reputed engineering colleges.

Key Responsibilities

1. Backend Development: Design, develop, test and deploy robust, scalable backend solutions using Java and related technologies.
2. Microservices & API Development: Build and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs for seamless integration across our platforms.
3. Performance Optimization: Improve application performance, reduce latency and ensure high availability and reliability.
4. Database Management: Design, optimize and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and scalability.
5. Product Engineering: Work on features and services that power our OTT streaming platform and media technology products.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, business and engineering teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
7. Code Quality: Follow clean coding practices, write maintainable code and contribute to code reviews and automated testing.
8. CI/CD & Deployment: Participate in build, deployment and release processes, using modern development and DevOps practices.
9. Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and resolve technical issues, investigate root causes and improve system reliability.
10. Continuous Improvement: Explore new technologies, improve existing systems and contribute to engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

1. 1–3 years of relevant software development experience, with strong proficiency in Java.
2. Strong understanding of Core Java, OOP concepts and data structures.
3. Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate and RESTful APIs.
4. Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
5. Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Redis.
6. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
7. Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
8. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.
9. Knowledge of multithreading, caching, performance optimization and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is an advantage.
10. Strong problem-solving, analytical and debugging skills.
11. Ability to write clean, efficient and maintainable code.
12. A strong sense of ownership, willingness to learn and ability to work in a fast-paced product engineering environment.

Prior experience in media, OTT or streaming technology is an added advantage, but not mandatory.
