Role Overview

As a Product Engineer within Professional Services, you will bridge the gap between advanced CAE software capabilities and our customers' real-world engineering workflows. You will be responsible for advising customers, implementing technical solutions, creating standardized engineering methods, and ensuring seamless integration of the EPLAN platform (e.g., Electric P8, Pro Panel, Harness proD, Preplanning) into complex customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Consulting & Implementation: Guide and support customers during the rollout, configuration, and optimization of EPLAN solutions within their design and manufacturing workflows.
• Process Optimization: Analyze customer engineering workflows to identify automation and standardization potential, developing tailored best-practice concepts.
• Customer Enablement & Workshops: Conduct technical workshops, user enablement sessions, and proof-of-concept projects for engineering teams and key users.
• System Integration & Customization: Assist in aligning EPLAN applications with customer IT, PLM/PDM, and ERP ecosystems.
• Technical Subject-Matter Expertise: Act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting pre-sales and sales colleagues with deep technical demonstrations, pilot projects, and customer assessments.
• Collaboration & Feedback Loop: Collaborate closely with Product Management, Global Support, and Academy teams to continuously share customer feedback and drive solution improvements.

What You Bring (Requirements & Qualifications)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Technical Experience:
• Practical experience in electrical design, panel building, switchgear design, or automation systems.
• Hands-on experience with the EPLAN Platform (e.g., EPLAN Electric P8, EPLAN Pro Panel, EPLAN Preplanning, or Harness proD) or comparable CAE/CAD software. Certification (e.g., Eplan Certified Engineer / ECE) is a strong plus.
• Integration & IT Knowledge: Understanding of database structures, master data management, and basic knowledge of ERP/PLM integration interfaces is advantageous.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a structured, consultative approach.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging both engineers and management stakeholders.
• Self-driven, customer-focused, and eager to learn emerging engineering technologies.
• Languages & Mobility:
• Fluent in [English / Local Language(s)].
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites as required.

Pay: R100,00 - R200,00 per month
