What they need

Who we are

We are Payactiv, a Fintech company in the heart of Silicon Valley, devoted to giving workers access to their earned wages when they need them. Payactiv is the pioneer and industry leader in Earned Wage Access. We are the only Certified B Corporation and Public Benefit Corporation in our industry. Our app provides millions with financial services that help them avoid debt, manage their finances, and regain flexibility to pay for things on their own schedule.

The mission

American workers are not OK. A few not-so-fun facts:

  • More than half of the workers in the US live paycheck-to-paycheck
  • 40% of Americans would not be able to come up with $400 in an emergency
  • There are more payday loan stores in the US—some charging interest rates upwards of 600%—than there are McDonalds restaurants

But there's hope. For workers on a tight budget, timing is everything. Getting paid promptly for hours worked instead of waiting for twice-monthly paychecks to arrive can mean the difference between building up an emergency fund or spiraling deeper into debt.

That's where Payactiv comes in. Payactiv is a Certified B Corp that pioneered Earned Wage Access (EWA) in 2012. EWA allows workers to access the money they've earned in-between pay cycles (when their bills are actually due), helping them avoid late fees, overdraft fees, and the need for costly payday loans.

What we are looking for

Payactiv is looking for a Product Manager who wants to build fintech products that make a real difference in people’s lives. You’ll work from our Milpitas, CA office, tackling complex problems at the intersection of technology, financial services, and the everyday needs of workers and employers.

You’ll probably enjoy this role if you are a strategic product leader, a strong customer advocate, and someone who knows how to bring people together to get things done.

What you will do

  • Represent the voice of the customer through user research, product data, and direct feedback
  • Lead products from early ideas through launch, adoption, and continuous improvement
  • Bring design, engineering, compliance, and go-to-market teams together to deliver seamless and impactful solutions
  • Translate user needs into product requirements and keep teams aligned around what matters
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Information Security to find the right balance between regulatory requirements and user experience
  • Explore emerging fintech trends, AI/ML-driven personalization, and other technologies that can make our products better
  • Define success, track the right KPIs, and use what you learn to improve performance, engagement, and adoption

What you need

  • 2+ years of product management experience in fintech, payments, lending, or financial services
  • Care deeply about building user-centered financial wellness products
  • Use data to make better decisions—but know when judgment and customer insight matter too
  • Know how to keep Agile, cross-functional product teams moving forward
  • Look for the win-win by balancing user goals and business goals
  • Communicate clearly, manage stakeholders well, and influence at every level
  • Are comfortable going deep with engineering teams on APIs, integrations, data flows, and mobile products
  • Understand fintech products, compliance, and the U.S. regulatory landscape
  • Are curious about emerging fintech technologies, including stablecoin and AI

Bonus points for

  • Experience with Earned Wage Access and/or payroll integrations
  • Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Academic background in Finance, Banking, or a related field
  • Genuine passion for financial inclusion and products with a positive social impact

What we offer

  • The opportunity to do meaningful work at a mission-driven Certified B Corp
  • Company-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance, plus FSA
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) plans with company match
  • Unlimited PTO, volunteer time off, and paid family leave
  • Tuition assistance or reimbursement
  • Monthly gym reimbursement
  • Complimentary office lunches
  • Hybrid schedule with four days per week in our Milpitas office
  • Base salary range: $135,000 to $170,000, plus bonus
