PRODUCT MANAGER – EV CHARGING

About the role

An established Malaysian energy-technology company is seeking a hands-on Product Manager to build and lead its growing EV charging product portfolio. This role requires someone who can combine technical knowledge, product ownership and commercial understanding—from evaluating chargers and manufacturers to product testing, deployment and long-term support.

Key responsibilities

• Own the development and lifecycle of AC and DC charging products
• Evaluate chargers and technologies from multiple manufacturers
• Establish and maintain product quality-assurance requirements, inspection criteria and quality-control processes
• Coordinate product testing, certification and technical issue resolution
• Drive root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for product failures
• Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for product defects, recurring failures and field issues
• Monitor product quality and reliability from incoming inspection and assembly through FAT, deployment and after-sales performance
• Establish product documentation, maintenance plans and spare-parts requirements
• Develop and review BOMs, work instructions, test procedures and technical manuals
• Build and lead a product and technical support team as the business expands

About you

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in EV charging, power electronics, electrical equipment, automotive technology or energy infrastructure
• Experience managing a technical product from evaluation and testing through deployment and after-sales support
• Able to understand electrical drawings, product specifications, test reports and system architecture
• Hands-on experience in product testing, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Experience coordinating technical matters directly with manufacturers or overseas OEMs
• Able to develop or validate BOMs, work instructions, test procedures, maintenance manuals and spare-parts lists
• Able to translate customer requirements into practical and commercially viable solutions
• Strong ownership, communication and follow-through
• Willing to travel for factory visits, product testing, site troubleshooting and customer meetings
