Product Manager - Microgrid Solutions

GenSystems is seeking a highly capable Product Manager to lead the development and market success of our Data Center Power Solutions portfolio. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, commercial strategy, and customer engagement, driving product vision while ensuring technically robust and market-aligned solutions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in power systems along with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear customer value.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

• Define and execute product strategy for data center power solutions, including generators, hybrid systems, and microgrid applications
• Develop and maintain a multi-year product roadmap aligned with market demand and company objectives
• Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer research to inform product direction

Technical Solutions Leadership

• Translate customer and market requirements into system-level product specifications
• Partner closely with engineering teams to guide product development, performance targets, and integration requirements
• Support complex customer engagements by contributing to solution design and technical positioning

Go-to-Market & Commercial Support

• Develop product positioning, value propositions, and messaging for target markets
• Enable sales teams through training, tools, and technical guidance
• Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and key bid opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, sales, operations, and leadership
• Ensure alignment across teams throughout the product lifecycle—from concept through launch and beyond
• Support product launches, documentation, and ongoing lifecycle management

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
• 5–10+ years of experience in power generation, energy systems, data center infrastructure, or related industry
• Demonstrated ability to manage products or technical solutions in a cross-functional environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data center power infrastructure (e.g., generators, UPS systems, energy storage, microgrids)
• Demonstrated experience in the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, storage) or smart grid technologies
• Background in EPC projects, large-scale infrastructure deployments, or custom-engineered solutions
• MBA or advanced degree is a plus

The Product Manager is expected to perform all duties with a strong commitment to safety, ensuring the well-being of themselves, coworkers, customers, and third parties at all times.

The role requires flexibility to work extended hours, including days, and as needed, nights, weekends, and holidays to support project and service requirements.

This position involves frequent travel to customer sites, and project locations, which may include remote or challenging environments. Work conditions may vary and include indoor and outdoor settings, exposure to varying weather conditions, and active industrial or construction sites. The Product Manager must consistently follow all safety protocols and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
