Product Manager (Tech)

About the role

Product Manager (Tech) within the Digital & Transformation division, reporting to the Head of ISD. The role owns the product lifecycle for key insurance capabilities, translating business goals into clear technical requirements, epics, and user stories.

Key responsibilities

• Own the product lifecycle for key insurance capabilities, translating business goals into clear technical requirements, epics, and user stories
• Drive the vision and execution of HLA insurance POS and core transaction workflows, ensuring seamless digital experiences for agents and customers
• Oversee end-to-end product releases, coordinating across cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, bug-free, and timely deployments
• Partner closely with Solution Architects and Business Systems Analysts to design scalable, secure, and robust system integrations
• Collaborate with Microservices development teams to build modular, decoupled services that power HLA core insurance engines
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team, conducting regular one-on-ones, setting performance goals, and driving career growth and continuous learning
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, aligning third-party solutions with internal enterprise architecture standards
• Identify, manage and control data risks, monitor performance and uphold data integrity
• Support the implementation of HLA's operational resilience framework, including outsourcing risk, business continuity and disaster recovery management within the Division
• Ensure implementation of data policies, procedures and controls to safeguard any documents or information relating to the affairs or account of a customer of the financial institution

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager or Product Owner, preferably within the Insurance domain
• Solid understanding of insurance workflows, with hands-on experience in Point of Sales (POS) systems, policy administration, or digital quotation engines
• Strong working knowledge of Java-based enterprise architectures
• Familiarity with iOS app development/ecosystem constraints is a strong plus
• Deep understanding of API-first designs, RESTful services, and cloud-native architectures
• At least 8 years experience in a similar industry, with proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and high performing teams
