Product Owner

Our client is looking for an experienced product owner to strengthen a marketing and communications squad focused on starter clients, professional clients, and selected strategic initiatives at cluster level. This opportunity suits someone who can translate business priorities into clear squad objectives, help steer an agile way of working, and bring structure, focus, and momentum to a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Capture marketing and communication needs from stakeholders and translate the annual marketing and communication plan into a prioritised squad backlog.
• Work closely with the cluster lead and marketing strategist to align priorities with customer needs, commercial objectives, and strategic goals.
• Ensure objectives are clear and stable before the squad starts a marketing or communication initiative.
• Monitor backlog progress, team performance, and resource allocation to support delivery against priorities.
• Conduct regular business reviews to assess results, identify learnings, and spot improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with other product owners and strategists on flagship initiatives.
• Act as a leadership figure within the cluster by representing the squad in meetings and helping shape the squad’s working methods and trajectory.
• Contribute actively as a change agent by identifying improvements and supporting the ongoing agile transformation together with the Scrum Master.

• At least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree.
• Positive, pragmatic, and adaptable mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to organise work and re-prioritise quickly in a changing environment.
• Strong customer focus, with attention to both customer journeys and internal stakeholder needs.
• Comfortable with trust-building, feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Open to change, quality-minded, detail-oriented, and goal-driven.
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with a servant leadership approach.

Technical Skills

• Mandatory tools: Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and SharePoint.
• Preferred tools: Adobe Campaign, Workfront, and Wrike.
• Mandatory experience with agile, scrum, or kanban methodologies.
• Experience working with IT teams, preferably in app development.
• Experience with change management.
• Preferred: familiarity with design thinking and facilitation.
• Agile certification is considered a plus.
• Preferred: knowledge of professional client scope, banking products, and business lines.
• Preferred: experience working with senior management as stakeholders.
• Preferred: marketing or communication experience to quickly understand squad operations.
• Preferred: knowledge of the BNPP group.

Practical Information

• Languages required: Dutch at professional level, French at professional level, and sound English knowledge, plus at least one local language.
• Telework arrangement: 50% on site and 50% homeworking.
• Travel: not applicable.
