Product Owner

About the role

Our insurance client is hiring a Product Owner for a 1-year contract role which has a good chance of it getting renewed or convert to permanent role.

The Product Owner is responsible for defining and executing the product roadmap for insurance applications, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, customer needs, and regulatory requirements. This role partners with business and IT stakeholders to deliver digital products.

Key responsibilities

• Define and communicate the product vision, objectives, and roadmap aligned with business strategy
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and business value through digital solutions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into product initiatives and delivery plans
• Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, regulatory requirements, customer needs, and technical constraints
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Own and maintain the product backlog
• Prioritize backlog items based on business value, dependencies, risks, and delivery capacity
• Conduct backlog grooming and refinement sessions with stakeholders and delivery teams
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
• Facilitate alignment among business, channels, IT and Compliance/Risk stakeholders

About you

• Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent area
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Product Owner, Business Analyst, Digital Product Management, or related roles in Insurance industry
• At least 3 years of experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders
• Experience in Agile product management frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe or Product Operating Models
• Effective communication and cross functional stakeholder management
• Strong decision making, problem-solving and influencing skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative team player
