Product Owner

Job Summary

The Product Owner will drive the development and continuous improvement of YYC's online learning platform and related AI features, aligning learner needs, business priorities and technical delivery. The role will own the product backlog and work with engineering, design, QA and content teams to improve platform reliability, delivery quality, user adoption, engagement and retention.

Job Responsibilities:

• Own the product roadmap and prioritise work based on learner value, business goals, delivery capacity and technical debt.
• Use research, feedback and usage data to improve course discovery, enrolment, learning journeys and retention.
• Manage the product backlog and prepare clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Align engineering, design, QA, content and business teams on scope, dependencies, risks and release plans.
• Coordinate UAT and follow through on release issues, defects and post-launch feedback.
• Maintain product documentation, release notes and user guidance, and coordinate user onboarding and change communication.
• Work with content teams and subject experts to improve content quality and evaluate the usefulness and accuracy of AI features.
• Ensure usability, privacy and access safeguards while balancing reliability, performance and operating costs.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
• Experience managing digital products or features from requirements through delivery and continuous improvement.
• Strong skills in prioritisation, user stories, acceptance criteria, UAT and release coordination.
• Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Understanding of digital platform user journeys, usability and online learning experiences.
• Ability to use product metrics and feedback to improve adoption, engagement, course completion, satisfaction and retention.
• Strong communication, structured problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant qualification in business, technology or information systems, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with online learning, subscription or content platforms.
• Familiarity with tax, accounting or professional education.
• Practical understanding of AI features, prompting or RAG.
• Familiarity with APIs, analytics, SQL or prototyping, and relevant product ownership, business analysis or Agile certification.
