Job Description

About the Team

Product Quality & Reliability is a cross-site team responsible for the quality and reliability of new modules and systems. Our team is involved in multiple module and large-scale system programs in parallel.

In addition to quality and reliability for regular products, we also work on Non-Standard Orders to deliver customer-specific solutions.

Position

As a Product Quality Assurance (PQA) Engineer, you will be at the center of the project team, communicating and collaborating with all team members.

You will have a strong focus on quality and define entry and handover criteria. You will identify, analyze and mitigate risk areas and propose necessary improvements to products and development processes.

You will perform activities across system integration and module projects.

How Will You Make an Impact?

  • Drive quality in system integration and module projects.
  • Be responsible for Product Quality processes, including FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and SRA (Safety Risk Assessment) at module and system level.
  • Support the architect in defining verifiable requirements and participate in the review process.
  • Create test coverage for requirements, FMEA items and SRA items.
  • Define and maintain test procedures and pass/fail criteria.
  • Select and discuss test methods with project team members.
  • Show test progress and define mitigation actions where needed.
  • Support design teams at system, module and system integration level in implementing Design for Reliability.
  • Develop reliability growth models.
  • Execute and support reliability analysis for new developments and predict warranty costs using field feedback and FMEA outcomes.
  • Drive the development of test plans for reliability testing (test to fail) and reliability verification (test to pass).
  • Support the Reliability Architect in defining reliability requirements and budgets.
  • Support design teams with root-cause analyses using statistical engineering and PPI approaches.
  • Support Sourcing in directing outsourced developments with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Provide project management with a clear overview of the status of PQA deliverables and provide reasoned feedback to ensure project readiness.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, developing complex technical systems, preferably in electron microscopy or semiconductor equipment.
  • Preferred fields of study: Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Additional specialized certifications in relevant areas, such as Six Sigma, are beneficial.
  • Experience developing and testing low-volume, complex high-tech systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience using statistical methods and DOE.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and communication.
  • Ability to travel up to 10–20% as needed.
  • Proficient English language skills.
  • Demonstrated innovation and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong focus on product quality, reliability and customer needs.
