Product Quality Engineer (Customer Quality)

About the role

We are seeking a Product Quality Engineer (Customer Quality) to join Toshiba TEC Singapore Pte Ltd on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role within our Quality Assurance and Control team, based in the Ang Mo Kio North-East Region. As a Product Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards and customer expectations. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and supporting our operational objectives across manufacturing and logistics. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact customer satisfaction and product reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse customer quality feedback and complaints to identify trends and recurring issues
• Conduct root cause analysis on quality failures and defects reported by customers
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues
• Collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and logistics teams to resolve quality problems
• Perform quality audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements
• Maintain detailed quality documentation and traceability records for all products and processes
• Investigate product failures and warranty claims to understand failure modes and mechanisms
• Support the implementation of quality management systems and ISO standards
• Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and stakeholders
• Participate in design reviews and process improvement meetings to enhance product quality
• Coordinate with customers on quality-related matters and provide technical support as needed

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or product quality engineering roles
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards
• Experience with root cause analysis methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone diagram, or FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Proficiency in quality management tools and statistical analysis techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments
• Experience with customer quality issues and complaint handling
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with manufacturing, transport, or logistics processes is highly desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software is preferred
