Product Specifier

About the role

This is a full-time position based in Central Jakarta. As Product Specifier, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our fire safety and protection products and our customers, ensuring that specifications are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with client requirements and industry standards. This position is strategically important to our business, as it directly influences product positioning, customer satisfaction, and the successful implementation of our fire protection solutions across diverse applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed product specifications for fire safety and protection equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Collaborate with product development, engineering, and marketing teams to gather technical information and translate it into clear, customer-focused specifications
• Create comprehensive specification documents, technical datasheets, and product literature for internal and external stakeholders
• Review and analyse customer requirements to recommend appropriate fire protection products and customised specifications
• Conduct product research and competitive analysis to identify market trends and inform specification updates
• Liaise with distributors, sales teams, and customers to clarify product specifications and address technical enquiries
• Ensure all specifications comply with relevant fire safety regulations, building codes, and international standards
• Participate in product development meetings to provide input on specifications and identify areas for improvement
• Maintain and update product specification databases and documentation systems
• Support marketing initiatives by providing accurate technical information for promotional materials and campaigns

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communications, Product Management, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Product Specifier, Technical Writer, or similar role within the fire safety, engineering, or manufacturing industries
• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, equipment, and industry standards (such as SNI, ISO, and international fire safety regulations)
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with technical documentation software or CAD tools is advantageous
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple specifications simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Knowledge of product management processes and experience working cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and sales teams
• Familiarity with Indonesian and international fire safety standards is highly desirable
• Fluency in Indonesian and English, both written and verbal
