Production & Workshop Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, organised and hardworking Production & Workshop Assistant to join our busy print and signage business.

This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of our production workshop. You do not need extensive print industry experience, as guidance and training will be provided. We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable, willing to learn and happy to help wherever needed.

We offer fixed Monday–Friday working hours with no rotating rota and every weekend off, giving you a predictable working pattern and the opportunity to plan your personal and family time.

Main Responsibilities

• Packing finished print and signage orders carefully and professionally
• Processing, packing and preparing online orders for dispatch
• Printing postage labels and preparing parcels for Royal Mail/courier collection
• Checking orders to make sure the correct products and quantities are being dispatched
• Helping with basic print finishing, cutting, trimming and preparation work
• Assisting the production team with day-to-day jobs
• Organising finished jobs ready for customer collection or delivery
• Keeping packaging materials and production supplies organised
• Helping load and unload materials and deliveries
• Carrying out occasional local customer deliveries
• Keeping the workshop, production areas and shop clean, tidy and organised
• General cleaning and housekeeping duties as required
• Helping the team during busy production periods

What We're Looking For

You should be:

• Reliable and punctual
• Well organised with good attention to detail
• Comfortable using a computer and have basic computer skills, as you will be processing online orders, printing postage labels and using online dispatch systems
• Comfortable working with your hands and being on your feet
• Able to follow instructions carefully
• Confident working independently once trained
• Happy to carry out a mixture of production, packing, cleaning and general workshop duties
• Comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change throughout the day
• Willing to learn new production and finishing skills

Previous experience in packing, warehouse work, production, printing, signage, online order fulfilment or dispatch would be useful, but is not essential.
