Production Assistant /AssistantTechnician

JC3DDesign is expanding, and we're looking for a practical, dependable and hands-on individual to join our production team.

We're a growing manufacturing business based in Peterborough, supplying customers across a wide range of industries. As our production demands continue to increase, we're looking for someone to support our daily manufacturing operations while developing their skills alongside the company.

This position will initially focus on the practical aspects of production. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to progress into a Junior Technician role and eventually take on additional responsibility for machine operation, software, troubleshooting and maintenance.

No previous experience is required. We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude who is practical, reliable and willing to learn.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will initially include:

• Loading and unloading production machines
• Preparing and changing machines for production
• Removing finished parts
• Completing basic post-processing tasks
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment
• Attaching keyrings and other components to products when needed
• Counting and organising production batches
• Packing and preparing orders for customers
• Maintaining clean and organised workshop and production areas
• Inspecting completed parts and reporting quality concerns
• Following production procedures and quality standards

How the role can develop

As you build experience and demonstrate your capabilities, you'll have the opportunity to develop further technical skills and responsibilities, including:

• Operating production software
• Preparing and setting up machine jobs
• Monitoring several machines
• Basic troubleshooting
• Routine and preventative equipment maintenance
• Replacing basic machine parts
• Managing materials and consumable inventory
• Performing production quality inspections
• Working with production management software
• Supporting improvements to printing processes and production efficiency

Our goal is to develop the right candidate from a Production Assistant into a capable Technician who can confidently operate, troubleshoot and maintain our expanding production fleet.

Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering, workshops, production or similar environments would be an advantage, but it is not essential, as full training will be provided.

An interest in mechanical or technical work would be particularly beneficial.
