Production Assistant

About the Position
Able Packaging Solutions is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Production Assistant to support daily food manufacturing, co-packing, fulfillment, and warehouse operations. This is a hands-on position in a food production environment and is ideal for someone with experience in a bakery, commercial kitchen, food manufacturing, or similar setting.

A primary responsibility of this position will be the weekly preparation and mixing of powdered ingredients used in one of our food products. This process requires careful measuring, following established recipes and procedures, and maintaining consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately measure and mix powdered ingredients according to established recipes and production procedures.
• Use commercial/kitchen scales to precisely weigh ingredients and ensure batch consistency.
• Follow production recipes, batch instructions, and food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary production area.
• Assist with packaging, labeling, and other co-packing production activities as needed.
• Receive incoming ingredients and supplies, including unloading and organizing deliveries.
• Perform inventory stock rotation using FIFO (first in, first out) practices.
• Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate when supplies are running low.
• Properly identify, label, and store ingredients and finished products.
• Assist with fulfillment, order preparation, and warehouse activities as needed.
• Complete production and inventory records accurately.
• Follow company food safety, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety procedures.
• Perform other production and warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery, commercial kitchen, food manufacturing, catering, or similar food-production environment required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and written procedures precisely.
• Comfortable using a kitchen or commercial scale and performing precise measurements.
• Ability to consistently produce batches according to established specifications.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical production tasks throughout the workday.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and stay productive with limited supervision.
• Comfortable working in a small-business environment where responsibilities may vary from week to week.
• Food Handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
• Previous inventory, receiving, or warehouse experience is a plus.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in doing things correctly, understands the importance of consistency in food production, and is comfortable with both kitchen-style production work and physical warehouse tasks. Attention to detail is especially important when measuring ingredients, as small errors can affect an entire production batch.

This is a hands-on position. Some weeks may focus heavily on production and powder mixing, while other weeks may include ingredient receiving, inventory rotation, packaging, fulfillment, and general facility support.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 16.0 per week
