Production Assistant

Sun Polymers is looking to fill a Production Assistant position to work on-site in our production and operations departments. This individual will work directly with the Operations Manager to assist with the day-to-day operations functions and duties. An important part of the role is to be a trainer for existing and incoming personnel, ensuring employees are proficient at their duties in all areas of the plant. The Production Assistant will conduct trainings and complete assessments of new personnel and will be responsible for confirming tasks and SOPs are being performed correctly. This individual will spend the majority of their time in the plant; this is not a desk job.

While this position is currently a 1st shift position, candidates who are open to possibly moving to 2nd shift in the future are a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Submit Production Report

· Training using Competency Assessment forms for specific departments and duties

· Confirming daily task forms, batch folders, captured resin weights, actual counts, and completion of maintenance documents

· Confirming Weekly and Monthly Maintenance Inspections

· Monthly Inventory Count

· Weekly scanning of Packaging & Weights logs

· Weekly scanning of all Shipping/Receiving documents

· Ensuring Maintenance work orders are completed and submitted

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· High School Diploma - minimum

· 3-5 years of Production or Operations experience (preferably in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial work environments)

· Bilingual-Spanish speaker preferred not required

· Excellent communicator

· Must be detail-oriented

· Ability to follow, and give, instructions

· Ability to multitask

· Self-sufficient

· Team player
