Production Assistant – Meat Works based role

What You’ll Be Doing:
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, physical work and wants to be part of a specialised production process.

• Collect animal blood directly from the abattoir processing line.
• Handle raw animal materials safely and accurately.
• Work closely with abattoir staff in a fast‑moving environment.
• Maintain clean, hygienic production rooms and support areas.
• Perform repetitive lifting (up to 25kg) during production and packing processes.
• Assist with storage, loading, dispatch, and general processing tasks.
• Afternoon shifts available – Roster is supplied weekly.

What we are looking for:

• Comfortable working in an abattoir environment and handling raw animal blood and by‑products.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand (NZ citizen, resident, or valid work visa).
• Reliable transport and a full or restricted driver’s license.
• Flexibility to work varied hours between Monday - Friday.
• Physically fit for repetitive heavy lifting.
• Clean criminal record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Employment reference.
