What they need

Production Associate — IWT Management

Company: IWT Management Department: Production / Manufacturing Location: [Hickory, North Carolina] Schedule: [Full-time] Pay: Variable

About IWT Management

IWT Management produces federally legal hemp products in compliance with the 2018 Farm Bill. We take raw hemp and turn it into finished, retail-ready goods for wholesale partners and everyday consumers. Every batch we ship carries our name on it, so precision, cleanliness, and compliance aren't extras here — they're the job.

Job Summary

We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Production Associate to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you'll help take products from bulk to shelf — weighing, filling, packaging, labeling, and sealing items that go directly to retailers and customers. You'll work within strict quality and compliance standards, keep accurate batch records, and help keep the production floor clean, safe, and moving. It's a great opportunity to build real manufacturing and compliance experience in one of the fastest-growing product categories in the country.

What You'll Do

  • Produce and package retail-ready hemp products, including weighing, filling, capping, sealing, and applying tamper-evident and child-resistant closures
  • Apply labels accurately and verify that every label matches the correct product, batch/lot number, net weight, and expiration or manufacture date
  • Follow batch records, SOPs, and work instructions exactly, documenting each step as you go
  • Perform in-process quality checks using scales, measuring instruments, and visual inspection to catch defects, fill variances, or labeling errors before product ships
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state hemp regulations, including proper lot traceability and keeping Certificate of Analysis (COA) documentation matched to the correct batch
  • Operate and troubleshoot production equipment such as filling machines, heat sealers, label applicators, and packaging equipment
  • Keep the production area sanitary and GMP-compliant — cleaning equipment, sanitizing work surfaces, and following good manufacturing and personal hygiene practices
  • Move and stage materials, components, and finished goods; assist with receiving, inventory counts, and cycle counts
  • Build wholesale orders, kits, and displays for business customers, and assist with pick-pack-ship for consumer orders as needed
  • Follow all safety standards, including manual handling and safe lifting protocols, and report hazards immediately
  • Support continuous improvement by flagging bottlenecks, waste, or inefficiencies and suggesting practical fixes

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in production, manufacturing, packaging, food/beverage, warehouse, or a similar hands-on environment (assembly line or packaging line experience is a strong plus)
  • Comfort with repetitive, detail-driven work and the discipline to follow written procedures exactly, every time
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail — small labeling or fill errors matter here
  • Ability to read and follow batch records, SOPs, spec sheets, and production documentation, and to record data accurately
  • Basic math and measurement skills; comfortable working with scales and unit conversions (grams, ounces, milliliters)
  • Willingness to learn and follow GMP, sanitation, and hemp compliance requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift up to [50] lbs with proper technique
  • Reliable attendance and a team-first attitude
  • Must be at least [21] years of age and able to pass a background check (if applicable to your operation)

Nice to have, but not required:

  • Experience in a regulated production environment — hemp/cannabis, food, beverage, supplements

Why Join Us

You'll be part of a small, hands-on team where your work is visible in every product that goes out the door. We value people who show up, take pride in doing things right, look out for their teammates, and are willing to learn. As IWT Management grows, we promote from within — production associates who master the process and take initiative are our first pick for lead, quality, and supervisory roles.

Pay: $16.00 - $35.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Flexible schedule

Application Question(s):

  • Have you worked in the Hemp / Cannabis space before? If so when, how long, and what?
  • Do you have reliable transportation?
