Production Associate

Position Summary

The Production Associate is responsible for processing, cutting, trimming, packaging, and preparing meat products according to customer specifications and company quality standards. This position requires strict adherence to food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, and production schedules while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process, trim, cut, portion, and package meat products according to specifications.
• Operate meat processing equipment, including slicers, grinders, bandsaws, and vacuum packaging machines.
• Inspect products for quality, appearance, and accuracy before packaging.
• Follow production schedules to ensure orders are completed on time.
• Weigh, label, and package products accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Follow all HACCP, USDA, FDA, and company food safety guidelines.
• Properly handle and store raw materials and finished products.
• Monitor product temperatures and report any food safety concerns.
• Assist with inventory rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management immediately.
• Work collaboratively with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous meat processing, food manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate processing equipment and cutting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment for extended periods.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms.
• Ability to bend, squat, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in cold temperatures and wet conditions.

Work Environment

• Refrigerated production facility.
• Exposure to raw meat products, processing equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
• Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, aprons, hairnets, beard nets, safety glasses, and cut-resistant gloves as required.

Required Certifications

• Must obtain and maintain a valid Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance in accordance with Hawaii Department of Health requirements. Food safety training certification preferred.
