Production Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support to daily production operations to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient manufacturing activities.
• Monitor production processes, equipment performance, productivity, and operational efficiency to support achievement of production targets.
• Troubleshoot production, machine, equipment, and process-related issues and coordinate timely corrective actions to minimize downtime and production disruption.
• Work closely with the Production Manager, Production Planner, Process Engineer, Quality, Maintenance, and other relevant departments to resolve production issues.
• Analyze production performance, downtime, rejection, scrap, and other operational losses and recommend appropriate improvement actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for production and quality-related issues.
• Provide technical support for machine setup, production trials, process adjustments, and new product introduction.
• Support the implementation of process improvements, engineering changes, and new manufacturing methods developed by the Process Engineer or Engineering team.
• Ensure production processes are carried out according to approved specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and quality requirements.
• Support the development and improvement of production methods, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with Maintenance on preventive and corrective maintenance activities to improve machine reliability and minimize production downtime.
• Provide technical guidance and training to Production personnel on equipment operation, process requirements, troubleshooting, and good manufacturing practices.
• Support production capacity, machine utilization, line balancing, and productivity improvement activities.
• Monitor and maintain accurate production and engineering data within the ERP system where applicable.
• Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates on technical issues, downtime, corrective actions, and improvement activities.
• Support workplace safety, risk reduction, 5S, and continuous improvement activities within the production area.
• Prepare engineering reports, production analyses, improvement reports, and other technical documentation as required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent engineering qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on experience in production troubleshooting, equipment, and manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is an advantage.

• Knowledge of root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and workplace safety practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
