Production Engineer

About the role

Suruga Techno (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented and experienced Production Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, quality and safety of our production operations. As Production Engineer, you will be responsible for optimising production processes, implementing improvements and maintaining operational excellence across our manufacturing facility. This role is integral to supporting our strategic objectives of maximising productivity whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:-

• Plan, coordinate and oversee daily production schedules to ensure optimal resource utilisation and on-time delivery of products
• Monitor production processes and equipment performance to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
• Implement process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs
• Conduct feasibility studies for new manufacturing processes and equipment
• Develop and maintain production documentation, work instructions and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure products meet required specifications and standards
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions in a timely manner
• Manage production data, analyse trends and prepare reports for senior management
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on the production floor
• Train and supervise production staff on new processes, equipment and safety protocols
• Liaise with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and minimise downtime

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production engineering or similar manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling and supply chain management

• Solid understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and lean manufacturing principles

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement solutions

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in manufacturing environments

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
